EMU Theatre

EMU Theatre celebrates the Year of the Ox with Oily Oily Oxen Sheen, its tenth anniversary 10-minute play festival, featuring ten original plays, many of them by local authors.

Performances are May 29th & 30th and June 5th & 6th, in the basement theater of the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire Street. All performances begin at 8pm, and tickets are $6 at the door.

The festival features comic, serious, satiric and surreal stories, including the battle of trickster gods, preplanned inheriting, charlatan therapists, and lunacy at the library. The show’s content is suited to mature audiences.

Also, an art exhibit, “Co-Laboratory,” by the Fresh Produce Art Collective, will be featured in the lower lobby, accompanied with live music by Glen Olson (formerly with PSO, E 100, and the Roundups), Tim Patterson and guests.

Refreshments including alcoholic beverages will be available in the concession stand.
