Amidst a persistent threat of inclement weather, the 3rd Annual Birdies Awards were held on Friday, September 25th, 2009 at the Stowergrass Amphitheatre in North Lawrence, Kansas. The looming storm did not scare off an enthusiastic crowd who feasted on grilled and homemade delicacies in anticipation of the awards.
The awards were hosted by the lovely and talented Adri Pendergrass and the lovelier and talenteder Jay Maus. Mother Nature held out long enough for the speckled aviary achievement acknowledgements (about $3 worth of .50 cent words there) and then the festivities moved indoors with much schmoozing and enjoyment of good company and celebration of another great EMU year.
